Homemade Pesto with Pasta


1 bunch of fresh basil leaves

1 handful of pine nuts or almonds

3 cloves of garlic

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

sea salt to taste

1 package of whole grain pasta noodles


In a high speed mixer, first put in your basil leaves, then add nuts, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and sea salt. Blend until you get a smooth consistency. You may need to add more olive oil or lemon juice depending on how smooth you want your pesto. In a separate pot, bring water to a boil on the stove; add pasta noodles and cook until al dente. Strain and top pasta with pesto. Top with sliced tomatoes, olives, or chopped nuts for a crunch. Enjoy!
